It could be found anywhere from Florida to the Grenadines.
If you were lucky enough to sail in the Caribbean at that time, then you would have worn one and no doubt kept it somewhere all these years in the hold of some boat or in an attic somewhere.
It was the swimsuit to have, because it was colourful and smart but at that time, it never dried!
